It that time of the year again where couples become annoying to single folks with their attempts to outdo each other at declaring their undying love for their significant other. Not that they shouldn’t be doing that every other day of the year, but Valentine’s day seems to be the day that requires going all out for a memorable display of love and affection.
Traditionally, the highlight of val’s day for most couples is the romantic evening dinner, which usually leads to other things *cough cough*. Since food is part of our business here we’ve decided to hook you up with some really cool restaurants you can use for your romantic evening. We’ve already released a list for Lagos, here’s one for our Abuja readers:
Blue Cabana
Blue Cabana offers a mix of African, continental and Middle-Eastern dishes. The restaurant itself is well furnished and provides a nice ambiance, especially if you choose to sit by the poolside.
Location: Mabushi District, Abuja.
Chez Victor
My preferred choice simply because of its excellent food and cozy atmosphere, Chez Victor is quite possibly the best French restaurant in Abuja. This is the place to go if you’re looking for a quiet dinner date. Prices can be on the high side though, so be prepared.
Location: 7 Ganges Street, off Alvan Ikoku Way, Maitama, Abuja.
Charcoal Grill Restaurant & Lounge Abuja
Charcoal Grill is one of those really cool rooftop restaurants that offer you a great view of the city while you enjoy your meal. Or you can be boring and sit in the indoors part of the restaurant. Wait staff are friendly, meals are tasty and the place has a very chill ambiance to it. Definitely a must for a romantic dinner.
Location: Penthouse (KFC Building), 112 Aminu Kano Crescent, Abuja
Nkoyo
If you know bae is not really a fan of all this Oyinbo food, and you’re also craving some local cuisine, Nkoyo is where you should be headed to for your romantic dinner date. They currently have 2 restaurants in the heart of Abuja and their menu offers a selection of popular continental cuisine, Indian dishes as well as Nigerian food from around the country. Also, they have awesome affordable cocktails!
Location: Ceddi Plaza, Central Business District, Abuja or K-City Plaza, Wuse 2, Abuja
Sawadee Oriental Cuisine
Where do you go when you’ve got a craving for oriental cuisine but at the same time, don’t want to eat Chinese food? Well, if you’re in Abuja, the answer is Sawadee Oriental. They serve authentic Thai dishes that are bound to either confuse you with their names or satisfy you with their taste. Or both. Prices are pretty fair too.
Location: 43/45 Kumasi Crescent Off Aminu Kano Way, Wuse 2, Abuja, Nigeria.
So there you have it, 5 wonderful restaurants to rekindle your romance this valentine season and make him/her love you even more. You no longer have any excuse when they say “we never go anywhere fancy to eat”.
Happy Valentine’s Day!!
I know this post is old but I had to add one more place. The food in Sandralia hotel is fantastic and reasonably priced too. It’s really beautiful too. You should check it out the next time you’re in abuja. It’s in Jabi
